NovoPhos smart phosphorus · for UK blends

Up to 80% of the phosphorus in a blend locks up in the soil. Value your growers pay for and never get.

Most of the phosphorus in an NPK blend locks up in the soil and never reaches the crop: lost value per hectare for your customers. NovoPhos is the smart phosphorus you build into your blends, released across four speeds, with microbiological release recognised by USDA. As an ingredient partner, the first step is checking whether your registrations cover our substances under UK REACH.

Phosphorus · NovoPhos

Phosphorus that doesn't lock up in the soil.

Most of the phosphorus in a blend locks up in the soil and never reaches the plant: lost value per hectare for your customers. NovoPhos, Fertinagro's phosphorus technology, keeps it available across the whole crop cycle and integrates into your NPK blends.

  • Up to 80% of phosphorus locks up in the soil, whatever the source: the same loss mechanism.
  • NovoPhos releases phosphorus at four release speeds: from soluble at the start to microbially activated.
  • Microbiological phosphorus release recognised by USDA (USA).

UK Regulation

UK Option 4 — what it means for your supply chain

The UK Nitrates Action Programme requires urea in Nitrate Vulnerable Zones to be treated with a certified urease inhibitor. You either source pre-treated urea, or supply the inhibitor directly into your formulation process.

Fertinagro manufactures two EU-certified UREASE inhibitor formulations — Efisoil Dura-U (granular) and Nitro-Optima (liquid) — with full technical documentation ready for your compliance pack.

Economics

UK CBAM arrives January 2027. Documentation readiness is what matters.

The UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism applies a levy on carbon-intensive nitrogen imports from 1 January 2027 — with no free allowances, at ~€105 per tonne of urea. Unlike the EU CBAM, UK origin alone does not determine your exposure: compliance requires embedded-carbon data, traceability, and evidenced carbon pricing.

Fertinagro provides what your supply chain needs to evidence compliance: EcovadIS Platinum (top 1% globally), EPD Process certification with plant-by-plant carbon footprint data, and full traceability from manufacturing to delivery.
