NovoPhos smart phosphorus · for UK blends
Most of the phosphorus in an NPK blend locks up in the soil and never reaches the crop: lost value per hectare for your customers. NovoPhos is the smart phosphorus you build into your blends, released across four speeds, with microbiological release recognised by USDA. As an ingredient partner, the first step is checking whether your registrations cover our substances under UK REACH.

Who we are
Behind NovoPhos stands Fertinagro Biotech, part of Grupo Tervalis: one of Europe's largest agri-food groups, with the industrial capacity, certifications and 20 years of track record to back every commitment.
Market context 2026
UK Option 4 sets the urease-inhibitor bar and CBAM arrives January 2027. Fertinagro is an EU-certified ingredient partner: UK REACH cover is the first step.

The smart phosphorus you build into your blends: four release speeds, microbiological release recognised by USDA.
Inhibitor-treated urea with our MCDHS molecule, with the documentation Option 4 mandates and CBAM (Jan 2027) demands.
Most of the phosphorus in a blend locks up in the soil and never reaches the plant: lost value per hectare for your customers. NovoPhos, Fertinagro's phosphorus technology, keeps it available across the whole crop cycle and integrates into your NPK blends.
Available grade
Combined product: NovoPhos phosphorus technology, MCDHS urease inhibitor (Duramon) and 2% amino acids.
Microbiological release recognised by USDA. Manufacturer: Fertinagro Biotech.
Phosphorus availability over time
NovoPhos keeps phosphorus available across the whole cycle, instead of releasing everything at the start.

The UK Nitrates Action Programme requires urea in Nitrate Vulnerable Zones to be treated with a certified urease inhibitor. You either source pre-treated urea, or supply the inhibitor directly into your formulation process.
Fertinagro manufactures two EU-certified UREASE inhibitor formulations — Efisoil Dura-U (granular) and Nitro-Optima (liquid) — with full technical documentation ready for your compliance pack.

The UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism applies a levy on carbon-intensive nitrogen imports from 1 January 2027 — with no free allowances, at ~€105 per tonne of urea. Unlike the EU CBAM, UK origin alone does not determine your exposure: compliance requires embedded-carbon data, traceability, and evidenced carbon pricing.
Fertinagro provides what your supply chain needs to evidence compliance: EcovadIS Platinum (top 1% globally), EPD Process certification with plant-by-plant carbon footprint data, and full traceability from manufacturing to delivery.
